Thats it! These are the only products i will be using on my hair at home in between salon visits. I don’t need a lot of them because i get my hair done at the salon…so anything else i need is at the salon 😉

MY NEW HAIR REGIMEN *relaxed hair*

Now that my hair is relaxed, i definitely need to change my hair hair regimen. Even though i got my relaxer about 12 days ago, i haven’t been maintaining my hair like i should…but now that i have all the hair products i need, i have decided to restart my healthy hair journey which i had stopped in a way. My hair is in excellent health though. No breakage, dryness or damaged ends 🙂 I have only noticed shedding which is normal…since it is not excessive.

So here goes…

Moisturize and seal
Massage scalp with oils

Deep condition with heat for about 10-15 minutes
Rollerset and sit under dryer for 30 minutes
Massage scalp with oil
Add sheen to hair/heat protectant
wrap hair with hair net and use diffuser
Add oil sheen spray

Every 3 months
Relax my hair

I bought 2 products from this brand (ORS) and i think i will absolutely love them 🙂 First off:

1) Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Sheen Spray

Free of fluorocarbons and drying alcohols
Restores hair’s natural moisture balance
Won’t fog or bead like other sheen sprays
Excellent for thin hair – doesn’t weigh it down
Provides natural, healthy sheen to dry, thirsty hair.
A blend of Vitamin E, olive oil, and herbal extracts provide new life to all hair textures.

Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Sheen Spray bathes each strand with a natural, healthy sheen. Olive oil has been used as a healing elixir to restore new life to anything it touched. It is rich in essential fatty acids that infuse moisture directly into the scalp and hair shaft. With consistent use, olive oil has historically been known to improve elasticity and hydration of hair. Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Nourishing Sheen Spray is a non-greasy sheen enhancer created to restore the hair’s natural moisture balance.

2) Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion

Blended olive oil into an incredibly rich moisturizing lotion that conditions and protects the hair from high heat. Aids in restoring the hair’s natural moisture balance while straightening the hair and providing a lasting sheen.

Conditions and protects hair
Aids in restoring natural moisture
Provides a lasting sheen

Apply a small amount to hands, rub together and massage through hair. Comb and style as usual

I sincerely hope that these 2 products deliver on their promises.

Yep. Thats what i’ve been told. A family member told me that my hair looked like plastic…is that a compliment? I have just come from the hospital and the pharmacist there asked if this is my real hair? I told her it was and she said, “what are you saying?” I said, “yea…its mine”. She said that she was looking at my part and the rest looked like a weave…i told her that i got a perm last week and before that it was natural…

Looks like am back to where i was 5 years ago when people would ask me if my hair was real (as opposed to a weave). It takes a little getting used to. I have always taken it as a compliment 🙂 I remember when i came home after getting the perm, my mum asked if it was all mine… 🙂

I am 1 week 1 day post relaxer and my hair looks really good. As if i just had it done. Funny thing is that in 3 days time i will be back in the salon for treatment and i bet it will still look as good as it does right now.

On Sunday (day after tomorrow) I will be attending a family lunch party thing and no one in my extended family knows about my relaxer…can’t wait to see their reaction! My cousins will be shocked that i did it then they will be like “you cut your hair again?” haha… this will be interesting

I was right about wrapping my hair all the way around my head. I have been doing a cross wrap for the past few nights instead and even though they haven’t been perfect, they worked. My scalp isn’t as sore as it was 🙂

All i did was comb all my hair back and pin it using 2 bobby pins. I thought i would need to buy clips for that but the pins worked out fine.

I have a few bumps/dents at the back from the cross wrap so tonight i will try and make it better. I sure hope that doesn’t mess up the outcome of my new staple hairdo later when i go out :-/
