My hair story

My hair is chemically treated (relaxed) and its type 3b/c and 4 something…am not really sure, but here’s a texture shot of my natural hair

Like most hair stories, my hair was always relatively healthy, that is, till i started messing around with heat styling.

In April 2011, i started doing my own hair simply because i hated going to the salon. I had no hair goals in mind and in my search for ways to take care of my then natural hair at home, i stumbled upon the world of healthy hair care, and months later, i started my own journey. Here’s what my hair looked like in October 2011.

The health of my hair has since improved tremendously and i have seen significant length retention (see my progress pictures here). My main focus right now is to keep my hair strong and moisturized so as to minimize breakage. I also want to maintain thick ends.

  1. Found it πŸ™‚ My hair is pretty much the same type as yours only natural. Do you think the same regimen would work? I’m in protective styles most of the time to avoid manipulating my hair as much

    • Hi Kish, i don’t see why it shouldn’t work. Last year my hair was natural and i pretty much did what am doing now…oil prepoo and henna treatments included. You can try mine if you want or formulate one for yourself. Just find what works for you and keep it simple. All the best πŸ™‚
